The Graduate’s Society

We praise Almighty God for the great blessing of having the Islamic Republic of Iran, and a Great Scholar as a leader, who is in the shadow of Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his appearance).

This great blessing is a result of all the struggles and sacrifices of the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, under the leadership of Imam Khomeini and his successor, Ayatullah Khamenei.

We thank God for all the fruitful consequences of efforts of the teachers and staff, especially Ayatullah Misbah Yazdi, for the establishment of the Imam Khomeini Education and Research Institute. This cultural movement, the efforts of the teachers and staff, was centralized and given a new speed of development by the establishment of the Institute. Now, almost all of the Institute’s graduates, as fruits of this cultural movement, have active roles in various cultural and social grounds.

We give a thanksgiving prayer to the Lord for all His blessings and we seek His help to keep us soldiers and protectors of the holy shrines of our martyrs’ blood, and thankful for His blessings. Without a doubt, the good connections that the graduates have with each other, and the positive and correct style of thinking that they have in common can have a wondrous effect in the fulfillment of Islamic goals, defense of the values of the Islamic Revolution and spreading of Islam throughout different countries around the world. The Graduates’ Society was founded on the basis of these important factors.

The History and Itinerary of the Graduates Society

Since the beginning of the Institute’s educational activities in the Dar Rahe Haq Foundation (around 25 years ago), hundreds of the Institute’s graduates are busy serving the Islamic Seminaries of Qom and other organizations (inside the country and out) in different scientific, cultural, or government jobs.

The relationships amongst the graduates, which still remain, can guarantee achievement of cultural and Islamic goals. The founding of a graduates’ society became essential for this important reason.

In 1998, all graduates of the Institute were invited for a reunion with the presence of the great scholars and professors of the Institute. Even though during the past two years, the society has developed at a rather slow speed, today we can see gladly that its structure was eventually formed. (Its structure means the type of structure approved and in accordance with the Assembly of the Public Council and the Organization of Execution.) Also during the past two years, two important public meetings were held on matters dealing with the Society. The Central Council, as well, by holding several meetings followed up on some of these matters.

The Position of the Graduates’ Society

The Graduates’ Society of the Institute is an independent organization which deals with religion, culture and science.

Overall Goals of the Society

1. Continuing student relationships and education and research activities amongst graduates.
2. Being active in all national issues (of the country).
3. Expressing their opinions and having a strong hold on all issues pertaining to the fundamentals of Islam, the holy Islamic Republic of Iran, our Great leader, and the Muslim World.
4. Striving to strengthen the cultural foundations of the Islamic Republic and defending Islamic values.
5. Cooperation with the Institute to develop and strengthen moral and scientific foundations.

I think that if this organization truly becomes strong, and goes in the direction in which it should, it is a great way to fight against cultural attacks and fulfill our huge responsibility. Whoever can withstand this destructive storm (cultural attacks), carry this burden on their shoulders, and rightfully accept this responsibility, must be someone like yourselves. I don’t think that any place other than here exists that has reached a better concept of mutual respect and trust.

The Graduates’ Society, with all praise due to God, is full of individuals who are adequately familiar with Islam, its principles and values. These individuals consider themselves responsible for and bound to the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. They also deeply care to preserve the Islamic Revolution. Everywhere these graduates place themselves, they seem to be a lot more effective than those graduates who have studied the regular old method.

I think one of the best instruments, if not the best one, is that we should have an organized gathering, all with the same goals in mind, similar to your own gatherings. If you really strive, put forth the needed energy, and invest in such a gathering, it will surely prosper, and in this instance God will be with you and your work will be filled with His blessing.

My thoughts are this that you, my dears, can become a victorious, divine, spiritual force that God will approve of and support, and Imam Mahdi will pray for and give his special attention to. I am hopeful that God will give us the opportunity to take this big step in achieving the goals which are in his favor. Furthermore, a group which is in the sight of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his appearance) can be established by you, my dears, in order to enable us to provide valuable services for Islam and its Shiites (true believers/followers), and preserve the Islamic Revolution.
