The amazing advancement of human in science and technology is one of the signs of a new era. Today, human, by using the latest scientific equipment and products (in different areas), has a totally different welfare than before.

It can be said that human has done almost everything for his/her material life and received satisfying results as well. Even with this scientific ratification, the human of today is suffering from a dangerous spiritual and moral emptiness. There have been reports made that people from all over the world feel this emptiness completely. They are thirsty for that drop of spirituality as a way to fix their lives and guarantee their prosperity and happiness.

A way that renders null all oppression, discrimination, poverty, corruption and hollowness that are predominant in everyday life. A way that opens the doors of prosperity to this world and the next.

The pondering of human at this point roots from a way of thinking that suggests science and religion are against one another. There was a point in time where religion was at battle with science. This had sovereignty in Europe and finally was the way that was introduced. During the Renaissance, science was over throwing religion in this battle. It came out of the battle as a legendary hero, with a more attractive appearance, and superseded the old way.

The bitter reality was that neither one, not only could not help human, who was plunging in selfishness and neglect, in his/her rising, but rather helped in his/her declination. Are religion and science truly against each other in this way?

In the Islamic Seminaries of Qom, our message, which is derived from the clear message of Islam, is communicating with and adapting these two subjects with each other. This can create a religious scientist (in any field of science) or a scientific scholar (of Islam). The Imam Khomeini Education & Research Institute, as a seminary, is trying to prove this matter in different fields of Human Science.

The History of this Institute goes back to the years before the Islamic Revolution. The time when it started its preliminary activities by establishing an education section in the Dar Rahe Haq (On the Right Path)

Institute and was being supported by Imam Khomeini. Today, its development continues and prospers with the support of Ayatullah Khamenei.

This Institute has activities in twelve different fields of Human Science (at three education levels: Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD). These activities are divided into two parts, education and research. The Institute is honored to better introduce Islamic culture to hundreds of students and researchers. This is done by working in different areas such as: Correspondence Education, Women’s education, and publishing specialized magazines and books on different topics in Human Science with the necessary educational tools (computers, language lab, audio & visual systems, etc…).

Affiliation with other seminaries and universities, scientific and religious personalities, and Iranian and foreign cultures is another one of our activities to broaden our horizons. We can also add to our uniqueness and status by attracting well known professors from around the world to our Institute and sending our students abroad to continue their studies in exchange. Another one of the Institute’s activities is dispatching students to countries such as Canada, England, Austria, and the United States and becoming graduates of universities like McGill, Concordia, Binghamton, Manchester, Catholic, Washington State, Texas State, etc….

Witnessing the spiritual thirst around the globe in the public and in foreign religious leaders, that I have witnessed, on one side, and on the other, cultural attacks on our dear Islamic country and Islam as a whole, makes it incumbent upon us to take a stand in becoming more familiar with Islam and introducing others to it. With the fast growing technological advancement of today, this becomes easier and even more incumbent upon us. This duty of ours, to stand up for Islam and brighten up a world lacking spirituality with its light, is preparing it for the appearance of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his appearance).

I extend a helping hand to all who have love for God, attachment to Islam, and the desire to be of service to humankind. I gladly receive all cooperation of those who spend all their efforts saving humankind by following God’s commands.
